Helpful Information

  • I provide various types of testing, including but not limited to, questions/concerns related to ADHD, autism, diagnostic clarification, learning difficulties, psychological/emotional concerns, and behavioral concerns. I believe in understanding the entire person and design each evaluation to fit the specific needs and background of the individual. I do not provide forensic, custody, or fitness for duty evaluations.

  • Given the uniqueness of each individual and potential referral question, each evaluation is individually tailored for the specific person. The estimated cost of an evaluation ranges from $1,800 to $6,000. Please reach out for further inquiries about your specific needs and questions.

  • Some evaluations can be done completely virtual. Most commonly, evaluations are a combination of virtual and in-person appointments.

  • An evaluation involves addressing specific questions through the use of validated, reliable, and norm-referenced psychological tests. Unlike therapy, the relationship with the testing psychologist is more formal and does not include therapeutic interventions or ongoing sessions. As part of the evaluation process, you receive a comprehensive final report, which can be valuable in various settings, including academic, social, professional, and therapeutic environments.

  • I am an out-of-network provider. You may check directly with your insurance company regarding your out-of-network benefits for mental health services. I can provide the billing codes if you’d like to verify your benefits with your insurance directly. I’ll also provide you with a Good Faith Estimate and a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I’ve also partnered with Mentaya to help you understand what your insurance may cover. Use this link to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services: https://mentaya.com/checkbenefits/duwsf2JAgK4YkVzDYG4r

  • A superbill is a document made for insurance companies that details the services an out-of-network provider performed for a client. A superbill is essentially a receipt that includes billing codes and the applicable diagnosis for the services you received so that you may submit this to your insurance to get reimbursed for the services after you’ve paid.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This estimate includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • After we determine to move forward with the evaluation, we will schedule all of your intake, testing, and feedback appointments. I will review the estimated cost of the evaluation and provide you a Good Faith Estimate. The evaluation process is typically several hours in duration across multiple appointments. This process includes an intake interview, test administration, report preparation, and a feedback appointment.

  • Please bring 504/IEP records, previous evaluations, report cards, and/or other documents you believe would be helpful for this process. I encourage you/your child to bring snacks and food on testing days. Testing days can be tiring, and it's important to have nourishing foods to replenish the working brain! Breaks will be offered and given as needed throughout testing.

  • I will score, interpret, and write a report of findings. A separate appointment will be scheduled with me to go over the final report of findings. The time it takes to complete the report varies for each individual.

  • Please reach out for further questions.
